Just by looking into support for your child, you are already doing something powerful and brave. Cycles of violence do not have to continue. They are broken one step, one decision, one child at a time. Seeking support for your child is one of the strongest ways to break it. You are not starting this journey too late, you’re doing exactly the right thing for your child to move from surviving to thriving.
Support for Every Age, Including Teens
Kids process what they've been through differently depending on their developmental age, and so does our programming. Whether your child is younger or a teenager, there's a safe and intentional place for them here. Healing starts right where you are. Our little ones and teens alike deserve healing and benefit from compassionate support. We are ready to support your kids just as they are.
Ways We Support Kids
“Unless we teach our children peace, someone else will teach them violence.”
–Colman McCarthy (Peace Educator and Activist)
Our programming is structured, age-appropriate, trauma-informed and designed to feel safe, loving and fun. Depending on your child's age, that might look like:
- Project Peace, our daily afterschool program for kids in our safe house. This program includes homework help and academic tutoring, positive coping skills, and themed activities that build skills like self-awareness and emotional regulation, all through a predictable, comforting weekly rhythm. Our staff support children by creating a safe space to process their experiences, practice social-emotional and self regulation tools, and hold space to simply be and play like kids again.
- Camp PEACE, our free eight-week summer camp, where kids enjoy classic camp fun alongside activities that build resilience, belonging, and the skills to cultivate peace.
- GameChangers, our program just for teens, offering mentorship, community connections, life skills, and space to build confidence and pathways for a safe and healthy future.
It's real, hands-on programming built specifically for kids healing from family violence. All of our programs are born with the needs, desires, and goals of the children within them. Our goal is for your child to feel seen, heard, and loved past any exposure to trauma.

Ways We Support Parents
What happened to your family is not your fault, and your child witnessing it doesn't undo the love and protection you've given them every day since. In fact, reaching out for support is one of the most powerful things a parent can do.
Our advocates can help you understand how trauma can impact children, learn tools to respond with peaceful and connected approaches that allow for your child to feel seen and heard, and feel confident in your healing role as a parent. Moms & Muffins, Family Days and other activities foster a sense of community and deepen your bond with your children.
Your child's resilience, and yours, grows stronger with support. Every step you take toward help is a step toward a different future for your family. It takes a village and we can be yours.
Will This Actually Help?
Children in our program show real growth in confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience over time. Parents consistently report their children communicating more clearly, showing more confidence, and experiencing less conflict at home and school. This isn't just childcare. It's a path toward genuine healing for your whole family.
Quotes from parents:
“My teen shared with me that this is the only place where she feels that she can be 100% herself and be accepted and loved for it.”
“My middle son in second grade woke up this morning and asked to lead our family through a meditation because people were grumpy coming out of bed, so we did! And it really helped all of us!”
“Camp Peace is the safe place my child needs to explore and name their own identity right now, it's clear that they feel safe with you.”
“My child saw that I was getting flustered and put their hand on my shoulder and asked me to take a deep breath with them. At first, I was shocked but as we slowed down and breathed together I really did feel better. Even more than that, I felt proud.”
“The tools my child learned at Camp PEACE have given them confidence at school. I see them trusting themselves and others again in how they play. I see them pausing in a difficult moment when they are frustrated. Most of all I have seen them smile and laugh again.”
“From Safe House to Camp PEACE, this children’s program has become my daughter’s chosen community. She feels so seen and safe there. She feels like she found her people. Through that, I have too.”
